MARC BERTHOUMIEUX

Marc Berthoumieux was born in 1960 in Haute-Savoie and he began playing accordion at the age of eleven years. In 1991 he went to Paris, where he was quickly discovered by the Paris jazz scene as a shooting star.

After a short time he performed already with his own band and was invited by well-known artists. He cooperated so far with Didier Lockwood, Charles Aznavour, Harry Belafonte, Patrick Bruel, Grand Corps Malade , Céline Dion, Georges Moustaki, Touré Kunda and many others.

Dee Dee Bridgewater hired Marc for their world tour with more than 200 concerts and for Richard Bona and Maurane he wrote several songs. His own albums "Les couleurs d'ici", „Jazz No Jazz Vol 1", Jazz No Jazz Vol 2" and "In Other Words" prove his talent as a composer and unique musician as well as a brilliant interpreter of songs by Sting, Pat Metheny, Bobby McFerrin, Russell Ferrante and others.

Friends of the accordion will be inspired by Marc's music, but also the audience, where the accordion was rather strange so far. Marc Berthoumieux succeeds in inimitable way to enrich jazz with his accordion by its own emotional world.
